William "Bill" James Anderson

William "Bill" James Anderson, 72, of Duluth, Minnesota passed away on March 24th at Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by family.

He was born in Hunters Park area of Duluth to Gordon and Eve Anderson. He went to Duluth Central High School. He went into the Army in 1967 and then ended up joining the Army National Guard. He was a life- long entrepreneur. He started working at the family business, Calvary Lumber and Construction, at a young age. He loved construction and building businesses. He started Klassic Construction and several other businesses.

He was a mechanic and pit man for stock cars races in Proctor and Hibbing for many years. He could fix anything from cars to houses. He was a classic car collector & often went to Rockford, IL for car auctions. He had a generous heart and would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. He believed in second and third chances. He loved all his family and friends, and living and boating at Island Lake.

Later in life he spent his winters in Pinellas Park, FL.

He was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma in his intensities and lungs in 2016 and was treated by Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He was a tough old goat.

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, brother Gordon "Buzzy" Anderson and sister Dorie Lu Leone.

He was survived by his wife Nancy Anderson of 35 years, daughter Billi Jo (Chris) Carpenter, and sons Lonny (Suzy) Anderson and Cameron (Chelsea) Anderson and

grandchildren, Anna, Lauren, Troy, Lily, Greta, Claire, Teaghan, Will, Wesley and many nieces and nephews, also a  very special companion dog Teddy.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 and service at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 4th at The Vineyard Church, 1533 W Arrowhead Rd, Duluth, MN 55811. His family will be present to welcome loved ones and is asking if you will please bring a story to share about Bill.
