Wayne Steven Bushnell

Wayne Steven Bushnell, 73, of Proctor, MN, passed away on November 6, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. 

Wayne was born in Duluth, MN to Lawrence “Bud” and Florence “Flo” Bushnell on December 17, 1949. He went to Proctor High School and graduated in 1967. He worked as a Jet Mechanic for the 148th Fighter Wing for 23 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was involved in the Proctor Moose Lodge for many years and helped with Men’s Maintenance at Forbes UMC.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sharon Gaines.  

Wayne is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Bushnell; children, Lyndia (John) Luomanen, Tammy (Drew) Peltoma, and Brian (Crystal) Bushnell; grandchildren, Jordyn, Emily, Zoe, Xavier, Wynter, and Faithe; brother, Larry (Yvonne) Bushnell; and nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Luke’s 5th floor MICU and 6th floor ICU during his last days and moments for their exceptional and tender care over him.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 17th at Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove Street, Proctor, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation instead to Animal Allies at https://www.animalallies.net/donate or visit them at 4006 Airport Rd, Duluth.
