Virginia Belle Peterson, 102, of Duluth, left this physical world and passed into the spiritual world on December 12, 2020. She was born September 15, 1918.
Virginia attended Lowell Elementary, Washington Jr., Central High Schools and Duluth Business University.
She was employed by Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, California as "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII, Sears Roebuck & Co., Glass Block Store and as an oral surgeon receptionist. She also taught English as a second language, taught ceramic classes in her home, volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital, Benedictine Health Center and Westwood Village.
She has been a life-long member of the Baha'i faith and served as secretary of the Duluth Local Spiritual Assembly of Bahai's from 1944 through 1990 and also has served as Chairman.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Joyan W. Peterson; parents, Mary & Eldrid Bauers; brothers, Dennin James Bauers and Roger Bauers; and nephew, Dennin Charles Bauers.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Terry) Palmer and Linda (Michael) Mattson; grandchildren, Andra (Ronnie) Malecki and Kyle Mattson; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and extended family at Keystone Bluffs. May all who knew her have wonderful memories.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private committal service was held. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
