Shirley Ann Steinhagen

Shirley Ann Steinhagen (Walter) 88 of Duluth passed away peacefully Feb 28 2022 of natural causes.

She was preceded by her husband of 51 years Adwell, 91. Her father Jean, mother Katica, sisters Joan and Joyce. She is survived by sons Donal and James, granddaughter Jazmin and step brother Daniel Benjamin.

She had a love for music and the arts, was an avid stamper, and had a passion for flowers. She belonged to various organizations including the Order of the Eastern Star #56, United Lutheran Church of Proctor, Foster grandparents, and the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra where she was able to sing in Handel’s Messiah, a milestone for her.
She received her nursing degree in Pierre South Dakota. She was employed as an registered nurse at St Luke’s Duluth as a surgical nurse for over 25 years, followed by Saint Benedictines, and later as a foster grandparent at the Head start program at Laura MacArthur School.

She was a person of faith, practice selflessness with kindness and understanding.

Visitation will be held at Sunrise Funeral Home on March 14th, 2022 at 3 PM with a Service to follow.
