It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Louise Woodford announce her passing to her eternal home on September 24, 2023. Sharon died peacefully in her beloved city of Duluth, Minnesota.
Sharon was born on March 15, 1941 in Houston, Minnesota to Emmett and Amy (Kittleson) Sennes. She enjoyed her childhood there. After graduating from Houston High School in 1960 Sharon set off to try her wings in the big city of Minneapolis, where she worked as a telephone operator for many years. Her next move was much further north to Duluth which would become her forever home. Shortly after her move she met Jack Hicken whom she would marry and spend the next 23 years with until his death. They traveled extensively throughout their marriage. It was on one of their Winter Break tours they met Jim and Bev Woodford. Several years later, after both Sharon and Jim’s spouses had passed away, they rekindled their friendship - this time as a couple - and decided to marry. They were married for ten travel filled years until Sharon’s death.
Sharon will be forever missed by her husband, Jim and step-family; daughters, Cindy (Randy) Seeley, Kathy (Richard) Mapson and Carol (James) Christensen; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; cousins, Donna Boyum and Diane Lambrecht; and lifelong friend, Marilyn Martin.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hicken; and parents.
A graveside service was held on Sunday, October 1st in Houston, Minnesota at the gravesite of her parents.
