Sarah Harris Obituary

Sarah Eugenia Harris, age 74, passed away from declining health at St Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

Sarah was born on February 16, 1946 in Ashland, Wisconsin. She earned a degree in government studies from Catholic College in Los Angeles. She has worked in the areas of human resources, clerical, office duties and in a military hospital besides her extensive volunteering. Her life was full extraordinary experiences living in many different places and states. She was a very adaptable person full of versatility. Her unique personality was an attraction to make people want to get to know her. No matter where she went she could make new friends. Sarah knew the art of how to be a true friend. She cared about people and was not afraid to praise them with well-deserving compliments. The sun would shine each day brighter in the lives of many because of her honesty and kindness.

Anyone who spoke with her soon realized that she had a very keen mind. Her vocabulary was of high ranking and she was very articulate and eloquent in speech possessing a quick and playful wit. Her perceptions would hit the bull's eye target and her knowledge was superior because her favorite hobby was reading. She would read anywhere, but a library was among her favorites. A book was read at such speed and her comprehension could retain that which she read. She also loved music and played the violin and organ. What a joy to hear her play!

She had experience of providing elder care and has always loved to be around older people. She was an expert in providing a clean environment and being a friend and caregiver to many. She had a remarkable way of understanding the needs of people and knew the golden recipe for calming the sick and afflicted. She was self-sufficient and independent dedicated to spirituality and scripture study. Sarah had been named an oblate of Assumption Abbey, an honorary lay member. The gospel was a top priority in her life and she longed to know the Savior better.

A Special thanks to all who have taken care of Sarah and hospital staff, and doctors. Thanks to the many friends and associates that have given any assistance in her remarkable life. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Sarah will be missed by all and she is a one of a kind gal. She passed her test on this earth with flying colors and made the world a much better place because she was in it. Now heaven is a better place because she is there. A special recognition and thanks for the private burial that will take place at the Assumption Abbey in North Dakota.
