Sandra Kay Michaelson Bennett, 66, of Pike Lake passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 surrounded by her family following a short but brave battle with cancer. Sandee was born Feb. 15, 1950 to Charles and Evelyn Michaelson. Growing up in Duluth, she graduated from East High School in 1968. On Sept. 25, 1971 she married the love of her life, Wayne Bennett. Throughout her life she was employed by Minnesota Power, the USPS Encoding Center, and Hallmark. Sandee had a kind heart and was always willing to help others. This was shown through her involvement with the Girl Scouts, PTA, and Elim Lutheran Church Sunday School. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with - and spoiling - her grandchildren. Sandee was preceded in death by her parents; and in-laws, John and Margaret Bennett. Sandee is survived by her husband of 45 years, Wayne; sons, Jeremy (Tammy) and Brent; daughter, Jayme (Brian); grandchildren, Brandon (Amber), Madison, Allyson, Aaron, Jaxson, and Cullen; 1 expected great-grandchild; brothers, Terry (Evie) and Dale (Colleen); sister-in-law, Carolyn Bennett Luxon; several nieces and nephews; and her special girlfriends. VISITATION: 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Highway, Hermantown, with a service to follow at 2 p.m.
