Richard “Dick” Otto Wargin, 88, of Hermantown, MN passed away on Sept. 15, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Dick was born in Duluth to Otto and Hannah Wargin on April 3, 1934. He graduated from Hermantown High School in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Hill in 1954; a marriage that lasted 68 wonderful years. He spent his career at the grain elevators in Duluth for the State of Minnesota and the Duluth Board of Trade and finished his working years with Guardian Pest Control. He enjoyed traveling, walleye fishing with Bev, and growing vegetables for his family and friends. Dick had a special knack for growing potatoes, and even won ribbons at the State Fair. Mostly, Dick was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather who always placed his family at the forefront of his priorities. His family is forever grateful for all that he provided and taught them.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eileen Farian (Wargin); and father & mother-in law, Ed and Lydia Hill.
Dick is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Jim (Stephanie) Wargin, Gary (Karlyn) Wargin and Ed (Kathy-jo) Wargin; grandchildren, Sarah, Joe, Reed, Lane, and Jake; and great-grandchildren, Tenley and Case.
Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, Oct. 22nd at the Cast Iron Grill in Pike Lake. Per Dick’s wishes, family and friends are invited to come and share a story or two about their time with him.
