Richard “Dick” Eld, 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at home with his wife by his side.

Dick was born on December 30, 1938 to Rudolph and Lois Eld. He graduated from Hermantown High School. He worked as a floor installer for 64 years. Dick married his best friend, Janet Briegel, on June 7, 1958. Together, they raised 5 children. Dick loved spending time with his family. He was an avid deer hunter, loved fishing, bowling, golfing – which he got a hole-in-one, and the Minnesota Twins. He had a very kind and gentle spirit. He enjoyed his cabin on Lake Minnewawa for 37 years and his winters in Leesburg, Florida.

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Rudy; mother, Lois; and sister, Marge Compeau.

Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jan; children, Kevin (Chris), Kerry, Lori, Kraig (Janelle), and Keith (Nicole); grandchildren, Mike (Latoya), Tanya, Samantha (Matt), Delaney (Brian), Lukas, Cody, Jackie (Chris), and Karley; great-grandchildren, Azriel, Max, Kaden, Odin, and Ella; brother, Jerry (Julie); sister, Ruthanne Schlinder; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
