Obituary
Randy Jon Virta, 70, of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022 following a hard-fought five-month battle, riddled with setbacks, to recover from heart surgery.
He was a loving husband, great father, and a good man, placing his family first, above everything else. A true “do-it-yourselfer,” Randy was very handy and became proficient at anything that he put his mind to. In retirement, he enjoyed time at the cabin and cherished the moments with his granddaughter narrating the adventures of her stuffies, especially Tom the Turtle and Larry the Vegetarian Shark.
Randy leaves lasting and wonderful memories to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Osmo and Violet Virta; and siblings, Steve and Linda (Bushey).
Randy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Darlene; children, Christopher and Erin; granddaughter, Reagan; brother, Terry (Carol); as well as many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
Celebration of Life Service to be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 24th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1108 East 8th Street, Duluth, MN 55805.
