Peter Frederick Campbell

Peter Frederick Campbell was born October 4, 1942 in Berkeley, CA to John & Patricia Campbell. He always had crazy stories to share about his life on the hobby farm in the San Fernando Valley, where he grew up with his two precious sisters, Susan and Peggy. He spent a brief time in the Army as an M.P., working with his beloved German Shepherds, and had a brief marriage, from which he had two daughters, Debbie and Brenda. Peter’s love for music took him on the road playing in a band. He lived in Green Bay, WI where he served on the Police Force and had 3 great children, Kim, Kristy, and John, with his partner Kay. Kay did an incredible job raising their children when Peter decided to go back on the road playing music. In 1975, Peter met Ginny in Rochester, MN at the infamous Roxy Bar! They traveled on the road together for 2-1/2 years before landing a sit down job at the Lamplighter Bar in Superior, WI in 1978. They bought their first home in Lake Nebagamon and married August 18, 1979.

In 1984, Peter surrendered his life to the Lord and walked away from playing music in the bar. It was a new beginning for a very weary couple.

In 1985, they began working for Richard and Elizabeth Burns, who became family to Peter and Ginny, and they moved to Duluth, MN. The little stone cottage became their new home with a new beginning. It was then that Peter began using his gift of music to worship his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

March 24, 2023 at 4:14pm Peter took his last breath on this earth and his first breath in the presence of his Savior.

We will miss his sweet voice and goofy sense of humor but his “Pete-isms” will live on in our hearts.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Peggy Campbell.

Peter is survived by his wife, Ginny; children, Kim Campbell, Kristy (Darin) Deschaine, and John (Megan) Campbell; grandchildren, Peter, Will, Nikki, Paige, and Jordan; sister, Susan Campbell; niece, Katie Campbell; nephew, TJ (Sarah) Campbell; great-nieces, Maiwenn and Layana; and many extended family members and friends.

Visitation to be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 28th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM. Graveside and Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery.
