Opal Lee Asbach, 76, of Duluth, MN passed away on June 22, 2021 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Opal was born in New York Mills, MN to Edward and Myrlyn Maasch on November 10, 1944. She went to Grand Rapids High School and then went on to be a homemaker for 24 years. She spent several years in retail and then spent her last working years as a CAN and in senior living facilities, which she loved and enjoyed very much.
She was an avid crafter and a beautiful crocheter, knitter, and seamstress.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debra Bassett; ad granddaughter, Jesi Sverd.
Opal is survived by her children, Patty Apitz of Cambridge, MN, Thomas (Kelly) Derfler of Hill City, MN, and Becky (Tom) Graves of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Katelyn, Evret, Wil, Ash, Grace, Jack, Ryan, John, Chloe, and Camden; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley (Don) Jamsa, Lloyd (Darlene) Maasch, Alan (Patty) Maasch, Barbara Maasch, and Steve (Brenda) Maasch; and many nieces and nephews.
