Michael ''Wags'' Jon Wagner, 66, of Duluth, MN, passed away unexpectedly, on Dec. 31, 2021, in his home.
Michael was born in Duluth, MN to William C. Wagner and Bernice “Bea” (Albertson) Wagner on August, 26 1955. He went to Morgan Park High School and graduated in 1974. He continued on in his education with some Technical College and also a Certification of Completing from Lake Superior College with his Teamster Apprenticeship Training. He worked as a Truck Driver with Asphalt of Duluth for 30+ years.
“Wags”, as all his close friends and co-workers called him, was a wonderful man. He was a kind, and considerate soul and was loyal, honest, and sincere. He was a very hard worker and very dedicated to his job and to his loved ones. Mike would lend a helping hand to you, at a moment’s notice.
He loved his family and many friends and his cat “Ebby” Ebenezer. Mike also loved wildlife, he would walk down his street and around his house daily, to feed the fox, deer, squirrels, and birds.
As a boy, he played Hockey and Baseball. He always loved sports and became a huge Cubs fan. He also enjoyed watching the Twins and the Vikings games anytime possible.
Mike will be greatly missed and never forgotten. He leaves a huge hole in many hearts that may never completely heal.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Mallon; and brother, Terry Wagner.
Michael is survived by his nieces and nephews, Debbra (Wayne) Curry, Sherry Mallon, James W. Mallon, Lynnette (John) Connor, and Cory Wagner; 14 great-nieces and nephews; 12 great-great-nieces and nephews; godson, Caleb Lustig; and many cousins and wonderful friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all his friends who showed their support and for sharing their uplifting stories at this difficult time. Also to the Sunrise staff for their help and support.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, Jan. 15th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service to follow at Noon.
