Mary Ann Berg

Mary Ann Berg, 94, of Duluth, MN passed away during the early hours of September 19, 2023.

Mary Ann was born in Duluth to Nicholas and Anna (Verlenich) Mrak on April 29, 1929. She attended Cathedral High School, graduating in 1947. She married William Robert Berg on May 6, 1950. She worked for Duluth Retail Credit, Blood Donors, and at the Morgan Park Good Fellowship Club. Mary Ann was a gifted pianist, she loved music and enjoyed listening to polka music.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter-in-law, Diane Berg; and brother, James Mrak.

Mary Ann is survived by her children, Gary Berg of Spirit Lake, ID, Cheryl (Doug) Belanger of Duluth, Joanie (Lance) Rengo of Duluth, and Robert (Janet) Berg of Virginia, MN; grandchildren, Timothy and Kristopher Berg, Julianne and Mark Belanger, Jason (Kari) Rengo, Marisa (Joe) Klescewski, John (Stephanie) Berg and Jennifer Berg; great-grandchildren, Kayden, Karter and Kalysta Rengo, Orion Klescewski, Emily and Hunter Berg; and sister, Patricia (Russell) Betts of Duluth.

The family would like to thank all the staff members at The Pines III, The Franciscan Health Center, and Essentia Hospice for the loving care given to their dear mother, Mary Ann. “Your acts of love and kindness will remain in our hearts.”

Private funeral service to be held. She will be laid to rest next to William at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
