Mae M Livgard, 80, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2022.
She was born May 9, 1941 to Alfred and Annie Onsager in Northwood, ND.
She moved to Duluth in 1980 where she later met and married the love of her life, Norman Livgard, while she was working for the Land Management Department of Minnesota Power. She took an early retirement from Minnesota Power but found that she wanted to continue working. She worked as a legal secretary for Hanft Fride Law Firm and for Huck Andresen. After retiring again, she continued to work with her husband at their business, Livgard Surveying.
Mae always put family first and helped to take care of many of her brothers and sisters on their journeys to be with the Lord. She enjoyed crocheting and made a full afghan for not only nieces and nephews but also great-nieces and great-nephews. In the past two years she also made over 50 lap blankets which she gave away to people who cared for her and people who were friends of her daughters and grandson.
She will be remembered for her smile, love of family, unending love for her grandson, Tyler, and strength (Onsager Strong).
Mae was greeted in heaven by her husband Norman, her brothers, Bernie and Jerome Onsager, her sisters, Alvina Mueller and Barb Thinglstad, her step-daughter Laurette Yates, and her parents. They are laughing, being too loud, and playing pinochle and hand and foot.
Mae is survived by her daughters, Angela Bergman and Tamara Schaefer, her grandson, the light of her life, Tyler Christianson, her sister Deanna Nygaard and many, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at New Life Covenant Church at 5309 Dickerman Rd, Saginaw MN Saturday, March 19th at 2 pm. Please join the family for sharing stories following the service.
