Lyle James Larson, 61, of Duluth, MN passed away on May 25, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital after fighting a brief illness.
Lyle was born in Duluth, MN to Roy and Bernice Larson on April 12, 1960. Lyle went to Proctor High School. He worked as a Brick Layer for Local #1 BAC for thirty-five plus years. Lyle enjoyed fishing and golfing with his boys. In February of 1987, Lyle competed in the U.S. Brick Olympics in Lansing, Michigan; he qualified for the Olympics by winning a local contest here in Duluth, MN. Lyle had only been laying bricks for three years prior to being invited to competing in the Olympics at the age of 26.
Lyle was preceded in death by his son, Luke Larson; parents, Roy & Bernice Larson; and brothers, Paul Larson, Daniel Larson, Dale Larson, and Larry Larson.
Lyle is survived by his sons, Daniel (Kelly) Larson, Alex (Kyrie Anderson) Larson, and Adam (Nikki) Larson; brothers, Keith (Alice) Larson and Dean (Pam Dittus) Larson; sisters, Becky (Brad) Bloom and Kris (Tony) Ciurleo; sisters-in-law, Pat, Jan, and Lois; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Luke’s ICU for their wonderful care for Lyle and all their compassion for our family during this difficult time.
Celebration of life will be held from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Solway Town Hall, 4029 Munger Shaw Rd, Cloquet, MN 55720.
