Obituary

Lois Jean Hanson, 68, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023 at her home of natural causes.

She was born in Duluth on June 1, 1955 to Kent and Marcia Feste. She went to Duluth Central High School and graduated in 1973. She went on to earn a certificate in Accounting from UMD.

Lois enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, decorating for Halloween, baking cookies, and browsing garage sales and antique stores for treasures. She loved animals, and her dog was her baby. Lois especially loved spending time with her three grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Steven.

Lois is survived by daughter, Janet (Warren Gressman) Hanson; grandchildren, Matthew, Dreah and Sara; siblings, Susan (Mark) Torblaa, Barbara Martinson, Lois’s twin brother Donald (Lori) Feste, Sheryl (Joe) Lamer and David (Wendy) Feste; many nieces and nephews; former husband and friend, Bruce Hanson; and beloved furbaby, Sadie.

Open-house style Celebration of Life to be held from 12:00 - 3:00 PM on Monday, July 10th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy.
