Obituary
Leroy “Butch” Thomas King, 66, of Hermantown, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2023 with his family by his side.
Butch was born November 22, 1956 to Leroy King and Cheryl Crescent in Chicago, IL. He married Wendy Ann Blank on November, 30, 1986.
Butch was an avid fisherman and hunter in his younger years. He loved to cook and have his family over for Sunday get-togethers. Family and friends were very important to him and he loved to always have them over.
He was a Pipefitter and proud member of Local 11 and retired after 30 years due to health reasons.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Cheryl (Chuck); grandson, Dominic; and sister, Kathy.
Butch is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Wendy; sons, Dominic, Michael and Dakota; daughter, Karrigan; step-daughters, Jeannette Hans and Crystal Kline; and all their significant others; 17 grandchildren including baby Jaxson due in October and another on the way; 10 great-grandchildren with two more on the way; many siblings including his best friend and brother, Steve (Patty) King; brother-in-law, Daniel (Cheryl) Blank; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and his friends that are like family.
Celebration of Life to be held 5:00 – 8:30 PM on Saturday, September 2nd at Skyline Social & Games Courtside Room, 4894 Miller Trunk Hwy, Duluth, MN, with Military Honors at 6:00 PM.
