Leonard believed in the Bible, paying tithes, and working for what you want in life.
Leonard L. Green, 72, of Duluth, MN passed away on March 19, 2021 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center after a 3-year illness of Alzheimer’s.
Leonard was born to Edward and Susie Green on Oct. 2, 1948 in Duluth, MN. He graduated from Duluth Central high School in 1967. While at Central he participated in hockey, track, and football. Leonard was passionate about playing hockey and did so wherever he lived.
Leonard was a proud honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran. He had multiple occupations during his lifetime. He worked at the DTA, Edison Schools, and was a mariner. No job was too small for him. He also had a lawn care business, did upholstery, collected scrap iron, and installed fences.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susie; and ex-wife, Mary VanDerveer.
Leonard is survived by his daughters, Primula Green and Takiiya Thygeson-Green; granddaughter Shanice; great-granddaughter, SaRae; sisters, Lela (Niko) Elfundi, Letha Houston and Mary Hamilton; brothers, Jesse, Edward, “Sonny”, Gerald, Bruce, and Vernon (Karen) Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday, March 26th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, following a private funeral service (which will be recorded for those who cannot attend). Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00am on Monday, March 29th.
