Leon "Jake" Irl Jacobson, 75, of Two Harbors, MN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023 after suffering a tragic fall. He was born on February 22, 1948 to Lawrence
and Goldie (Anderson) Jacobson in Duluth, MN.
Leon grew up in Two Harbors graduating from Two Harbors High School Class of 1966. He attended Bible College in Aberdeen, SD and later at Duluth Business University. Leon was enlisted in the United States Coast Guard from 1969 to 1973 and after returning from serving his country he moved to Willmar, MN to work for Central Sheetmetal. In 2000, Leon moved back to his hometown of Two Harbors to be closer to his family.
Leon was a man of many talents and could fix anything. At one point he was instrumental in getting the Two Harbors Lighthouse recommissioned. He was a known animal whisper to many
different horse ranches throughout the state. Leon had a passion for all animals and could train them to do the impossible. He was featured in the New York Times with viral photo of he and
his dog, Duke, riding a 2-person bicycle. Leon ultimately was a man of adventure and he loved to push it to the limit. He took numerous motorcycle trips across the country and was an active scuba diver.
While he had many talents and passions, his biggest passion was the love he had for Jesus. Every conversation Leon would have with someone always came back to his faith. He showed Christ’s love not only through words but through actions. Leon was a prayer warrior, would show up when someone needed it (or even when they didn’t know they needed it), and always
had an encouraging word. Leon’s faith in Christ left a lasting impression on everyone.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Goldie; infant sister, Cindy Renae; and sister-in-law, Jeannie Jacobson.
Leon will be greatly missed by both brothers of Two Harbors, Mike (Brenda) Jacobson and their children Jason, Kristi, and Nathan Jacobson and Larry (Louise Fransen) Jacobson and his
children, Christopher (Laura) Jacobson, Kimberly (Greg) Moe, Katie (Mark) Kliegle, and Kristi (Cory) Svihla; his loving significant other, Alisha Rocklin of Two Harbors; her children, Jessica,
Dylan, Andrew, and Laura; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 5:00pm until the 6:00pm Memorial Service Friday, October 13, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Two Harbors with Pastor Scott Nelson presiding.
