Larry Jack Bannor, 83, of Hermantown, passed away unexpectedly in his home on September 22, 2021.
Larry was born in Bemidji, MN to his parents, Perry and Viola Bannor on February 20, 1938. He graduated from Bemidji High School. He and Peggy moved to Duluth in 1956 where he began working for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He retired from Coca-Cola working as the General Manager in 1993. After retirement, he drove semi for Manion Wholesale Building Supply for 17 years. Larry married Peggy, the love of his life, on October 6, 1956 and together they had three children: Pam Carlson, Randy (Tammy) Bannor, and Lari Jo (Rick) Shaw. Larry loved his children and their spouses, his grandchildren and their spouses, and his great-grandchildren. He always said his favorite gifts were not presents, but having his family together. Larry was part of the original 4 who started the Blackwoods Blizzard Tour for ALS, and continued to volunteer each year to raise money for ALS. Larry was an active member in the Hermantown Night Riders Snowmobile Club and a member of the Shrine.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Craig Malvick; and his son-in- law, Jack Carlson.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Peggy; 3 children; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
An open-house style Celebration of Life will be held from 4 – 7 PM on Thursday, September 30th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy.
