Kim Bettina Ruhnke (Wallner), 56, found peace in the arms of Jesus on April 28, 2020, in Asheville, NC.
Kim was born on April 2, 1964, in Fort Dix, NJ. When she was four years old, she and her sister were adopted in Duluth, MN, by Robert and Helga Wallner. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She graduated from Central High School in 1982, where she was active in band, jazz band and swim team.
She moved to North Carolina in 2002, to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Kim enjoyed fishing, hiking, horses, taking in stranded animals, creating art, listening to music, and spending time with her grandchildren, especially little "Jane Jane."
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Edwin & Adeline Wallner and Carl & Sigrid Larsen; brother, Michael Bowen; aunt and uncle, Carol & Delano Frady; and grandson, Mason.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Helga Wallner; sister, Marcy Wallner; children, Bettina Keppers, (Jamie Haugen), Danielle Keppers, Brock Keppers, and Kaylene Runhke; grandchildren, Baamlak & Davion, Connor, Chris and Janie; and nieces, Monica (Aaron) Decaro, Rachel Smith, and Mariah (Thomas Jezierski) Smith.
Visitation to be held at 12 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service to follow at 1 pm. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
