Kathleen Mary Peterson

Kathleen Mary Peterson, 77, of Hermantown, passed away on Oct. 5, 2020 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Kathy loved to spend time with her family and friends, camping, playing cards, dice, cook outs, and just hanging out, laughing and reminiscing.

She was the last remaining member of the John G. McDonnell family and was preceded in death by her father, John McDonnell; mother, Angeline (Cartier) McDonnell; brothers, Terrence and Rowan (Jo); sister, Patricia Crom; and nephew, Terrence Jr.

Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lauren “Sonny” R. Peterson; daughters, Anna Peterson and Mary (Greg) Kresal; grandchildren, Danielle Peterson, Alli (Cody) Johnson, and Stephen (Tonya) Kresal; great-grandchildren, Julius, Harper, Gianna, and one on the way and already loved; many nieces and nephews; and special friends in the Ciurleo family.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Luke’s Hospice.

Public visitation to be held at 2 pm on Friday, Oct. 9th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with private family service held prior.
