Juellie Nelson Reinke, 96, of Duluth, Minnesota passed away peacefully on July 3, 2022. Juellie was born in Duluth to Hans and Julia Nelson on April 2, 1926. Growing up in Duluth Heights she enjoyed many sports but especially ice and roller skating. Riding her bike and learning to sew with her mom. She attended Duluth Central High School where she was a cheerleader and graduated in 1944. After high school she went on to be a psychiatric nurse at Glenwood Hills in Minneapolis until she married William K. Wennberg in 1946. Living in Pike Lake she enjoyed golf, bridge, swimming, PTA, was a Girl Scout leader as they raised their 4 children. Juellie always dressed in style with lipstick on and nails polished. She loved to host family gatherings making her special dishes plus fun decorations for everyone to enjoy. Life changes brought her back into the workplace where she became a licensed insurance agent. Living in Proctor she met Fred Reinke. They got married in 1994 and together enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Hawaii plus spent their winters in Arizona.
Juellie's biggest joy was her family. She was "Grandma Jo" to everyone. She was her grandchildren's biggest fan attending their games and other school events. She kept in touch with her cousins as they gathered for "Cousins Lunch" every Wednesday at Bridgeman's.
Juellie will be missed by many and loved by all.
Juellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Debbie (Gene); and brother, Harland.
Juellie is survived by her son, Bill (Wendy) Wennberg; daughters, Julie (Mark) Honer and Amy (Rob) Rafferty; grandchildren, Chad (Brenda) Wennberg, Jason (Sonya) Wennberg, Ed (Leah) Spence, Christina (Chris) Dyer, Shelby Spence, Jayson (Emily) Honer, Jenna (Josh) Peterson, James Rafferty, and Julia Rafferty; great-grandchildren, Violet, Nelson and Annika Wennberg, Dylan, Jaysa and Ryker Wennberg, Sammi Jo and Brandon Spence, Griffin (Angel) Hutchins, Nikkita Hutchins, Nevaeh Spence, Juellie and Jenna Dyer, James, Jack, Johnny and Kayleigh Peterson; great-great grandchildren, Allison and Lauren; sister-in-law, Arlene Nelson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our Mom was a true treasure and will be greatly missed. Thanks to family, friends, and special care givers for all their calls, cards, visits, and special homemade treats. She loved it all and appreciated each and every one of you.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 15th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, MN, with Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 Noon.
