John "Jack" Conrad Rygg

John “Jack” Conrad Rygg, 81, of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away on September 20, 2023 at Solvay Hospice House.

Jack was born in Superior, Wisconsin to Gerhardt and Carmel Rygg on August 10, 1942. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1960.

Jack was a musician from junior high onward. He also worked in construction, as a Merchant Marine, sailed the great lakes and a short stint at Home Depot. His passion was music and he played in many bands throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. Jack and Judy enjoyed traveling the U.S. and spending their winters in sunny Naples, Florida.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; parents; brother, Gary; and sister, Joyce.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Tawnya (Jason) Bowstring; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; cousins; and niece, Heather Rygg.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Essentia Oncology and Hospice as well as Solvay Hospice House.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 30th at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5779 Seville Rd, with Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Burial at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

Jack filled a lot of roles for many different people, but will be missed by all.
