John Vito Gannucci, 81, of Duluth MN, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at home with his family at his side.
John was born in Duluth to Rex & Irene Gannucci on December 18, 1939. He went to high school at Proctor High and graduated in 1957. He was drafted into the army and served in Japan in the intelligence division. Thereafter, he worked at Clyde Iron and Calvary Cemetery. He enjoyed building show cars, coaching basketball for St. Rose, playing his accordion, and playing fast pitch. In his later years, he really enjoyed going to auctions and traveling.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Irene; and his father, Rex.
John is survived by his wife, Kathie; children, Tami (Mark), Rob (Annette), Jason, Matt (Beth), Derek, and Maria (Tyler); 20 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. John was always there for his family.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to St. Mary’s Hospice team, especially Tara.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 13th at 10:00 am at St. Rose Catholic Church, 2 Sixth Avenue Proctor MN, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Due to COVID-19, masks will be worn and there will be no refreshments served afterward.
