Elwin "Babe" Carl Anderson

Elwin “Babe” Carl Anderson, 73, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully in his home with his children by his side, on March 17, 2023, after battling cancer.

Babe was born in Duluth, MN to Fritz and Ailie (Erickson) Anderson on March 1, 1950. He went to Duluth Central High School, graduating in 1968. He worked as a union carpenter for 48 years, as part of the Carpenters Local 361, after joining July 23, 1974. He retired at the age of 55, in 2005, from Klassic Constructors of Duluth. After retirement Babe enjoyed golfing, putzing in his yard, going to the shack, and spending time with friends. Prior to that he participated in several pool, dart, and bowling leagues. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and traveling as well as spending time outdoors with family and friends. Babe had an amazing sense of humor. He was loved by many and was extremely generous.

Babe was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Paul “Skimper” Anderson.

Babe is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Chris Mahnke) Ciurleo; son, Kurt (Aron Marks) Anderson; grandchildren, Zachary Ciurleo and Marissa Ciurleo; brother, Duane “PeeWee” (Sandy) Anderson; sisters, Dolly Burns and Joy Fausone; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the team at St. Luke’s Oncology and the St. Luke’s Hospice care team.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 14th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown.
