Donna Lee Hildre

Donna L. Hildre, age 82 of Duluth, passed away on February 4, 2016, while surrounded by family at Chris Jensen. She was born on March 10, 1933, to John and Margaret Boehler. In 1951, she graduated from Butte Montana High School. She met Peter Hildre on a blind date at a military ball, six months later they married in 1953. Peter and Donna eventually made their home in Minnesota where she stayed at home and raised six children. Donna loved working at Wahl's Department Store. She was a member of Via de Cristo through Grace Lutheran Church and the Rosemaling Society where she won multiple grand champion awards for her artwork. She also enjoyed music, baking, cooking, and spending time with family. Donna will always be remembered for being a devoted wife and mother. Peter was the love of her life and they were together until the end. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings. Donna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Peter S. Hildre; children, Margie (Larry) Helstrom, Pam Hildre, Jean (Wayne) Suliin, Peter W. (Karen) Hildre, David (Reine) Hildre, Julie Mead; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life service will be on Monday, February 8th, 2016 at 2:00pm at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Phil Berg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
