Clifford "Cliff" William Tribby, 80, of Duluth, passed away after a long, courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Cloquet to Emery and Alyce (Holmquist) Tribby on August 12, 1938. Cliff graduated from Carlton High School in 1956. After high school he worked for the Wood Conversion Co. in Cloquet, Reach All in Duluth and was self-employed, until he retired in 2003. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping his son build 4 houses. He also enjoyed collecting antique guns, spark plugs, and gas engines. He and his wife Donna travelled statewide to many different shows and swap meets where he built up his collections. One of Cliff's greatest joys in life was restoring his 8 antique cars to perfection.
Cliff is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Donna (Myrmel) Tribby; children, Cindy (David) Sandberg, Shari (Bob Milligan) Tribby, Mike (Kelly Miner) Tribby and Stephanie (Charles) Walbridge; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 6 sisters; 6 brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, September 1st at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown.
