Clarice “Beecie” Charlyn LeRoy, of Duluth, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Edgewood Hermantown. 

Clarice was born Sept. 29th, 1936 to Clarence and Dorothy Johnson. Clarice graduated from Denfeld High School in 1954. She first worked for the Boys Club of America, transitioning to a 25-year career in advertising working for H. T. Klatzky & Associates.

Clarice and Jean married April 3, 1982 they were very adventurous and loved to travel, especially the scenic “North Shore” of Lake Superior and visits with family in Missouri and Wisconsin. They loved to listen to jazz and to find fun and unique places to eat… especially desserts! They lived life to its fullest. She greatly enjoyed participating in family events with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sweet and Kind were the words most often used to describe Clarice, she will forever be in our hearts and memories.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rodney Johnson; step-son, Robert LeRoy; and son, Kory Meyer. She was followed in death by her loving husband, Francis Jean LeRoy four days later.

Clarice is survived by her children, Kirk(Mary) Meyer, Kelli (Jeffrey) Alseth, Kristin (David Brown) Meyer; step-son, Mike (Mary) LeRoy; grandchildren, Christopher Meyer and Alicia (Brandon) Myers, David (Davena) Lotruglio, Camren Owens, Michael Leroy, Marc (Kaitlain) LeRoy, and Bradley (Aimee) LeRoy; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Jane Myers, Everette James Meyer and Cohen Jean Meyer, Kiley Owens, Jack Owens, William Owens, Noah Owens, Grayson LeRoy, Arohi Lotruglio, and Druv Lotruglio. Clarice was blessed with the life-long friendships with her “Nelson” cousins and special friend, Chris Good.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at Edgewood Hermantown and CaringEdge Hospice for their care and compassion during this difficult time.

A joint Military Service for both Jean and Clarice will be held at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 19th with Celebration of Life Social to follow at Sunrise Funeral Home from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank.
