Beatrice Maybelle Fossum

Beatrice Maybelle (Carey) Fossum passed away on March 5, 2022, in her home in Hermantown, MN.

She was born June 22, 1927 in Duluth, MN to Clifford and Suzanna Carey.

Beatrice attended Gnesen School and later Washington Jr high school.

Bea Loved having her family and friends around her. She was one of the finest cake decorators around. She loved playing cards and Yahtzee. She was an amazing artist, we have many paintings she made. She loved animals!

Shortly after entering the work force she was employed at Fridgaire plant and later at 6 ave. East IGA store, where she was employed in the bakery. On the opening of Denfeld Super Valu, she became a cake decorator. She met her husband Earl “Barney” Fossum at a Super Valu. When Mount Royal Super Valu opened she transferred there where she worked until her retirement as a deli worker.

She was an active member in several local churches including Calvary Temple, New Hope Bible Chapel, and Streams of Life Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl “Barney” Fossum, her 3 brothers Robert Carey, Wallace Carey, and Alfred (Dorithy) Carey, her sister Loretta (Elmer) Kortesmaki, also her son-in-law Jeff Larson.

She is survived by her 4 children Roger (Brenda Sue) Fossum, Brenda (Rick) Hallfrisch, Jeff (Monice) Fossum, Susan Larson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ardith Carey.

She loved to spoil her grandkids Stephanie, Jayden (Ashley), Ashley, Jeffrey, Stephanie, Joshua, Joey, Sarah, Hunter and great grandkids Alex, Benjamin, Harper, Miley, and Emmett.

A Visitation will be held on Friday March 11, 2022 at 4 PM at Sunrise Funeral Home, followed by a 5 PM Service.
