Barbara “Bonnie” Jean Holte Beier
Born May 7, 1944; Died October 14, 2023
Barb was born to Bennie and Esther (Williams) Holte and lived most of her life in Duluth. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at St. Mary’s, and also attended Seattle Bible School. She worked as a “soda jerk” in Seattle, at Glass Block, and then at The Duluth Clinic in Oncology.
Her interests and joys were her children and grandchildren. She loved attending their activities: sports, concerts, musicals, and church events. One year she had the privilege of playing her violin in the school musical’s orchestra, another time she helped coach Beth’s softball team. In 2017 she began ancestry research for both sides of her family. It was quite an interesting project, where she was able to (re)connect with many family members. It gave her untold hours of joy.
Barb attended Duluth Gospel Tabernacle her whole life where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choirs, and played her violin in the orchestra. She led a men’s quartet, a women’s ensemble, and a mixed ensemble. Her faith in Jesus was the guiding factor in her life.
Barb is survived by her children, Tamara (Jonathan) Stiles, Cindy (Jonatan) Palma, Beth (Jeremy) Nordby, Andrew (Lindsey) Beier, and Kristina (Jonathan) Fure; twelve beautiful grandchildren; Paul, Madeleine and Daniel Stiles, Alexis Nordby and Katelyn (Zach) Pelzman, Caden and Corban Peterson, Crosby Beier, and Austin, Logan, Connor, and Audrey Fure; and siblings, David, Richard “Dick,” Alice (dec.), Steven (Cathy), and Beverly Holte and their families.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, October 18th at the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W Superior St, with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM and reception to follow. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
