Alice L. Hieb

Alice L. Hieb, age 85, of Duluth passed away peacefully on August 19, 2016.  She was preceded in death by husband, Orvin M. Hieb in 2013; parents, Theodore and Lydia (Schnaidt) Aman; sisters, Lillian Launer and Doris Grant. Alice was born on September 8, 1930, in Roscoe, South Dakota.  She graduated from Ipswich High School in 1948 and married Orvin Hieb on June 12, 1948. Orvin and Alice moved to Duluth in 1957 where Alice had a long and successful career selling real estate.  She retired in 2011 from the Edmunds Realty Co. at the age of 80 years old. Orv and Alice enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years.  Alice loved to cook, bake, entertain friends and enjoyed gardening at her lake home.  She loved to dance and had a special passion for spending time with her grandchildren. Alice is survived by sons, David (Pam) and Daniel; daughters, Karen Rogge and Karla (Dave) Slovick; four grandchildren, Brian, David, Joseph, and Jill; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Norma Jerke; brother, Alan Aman; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their thank you and deepest gratitude to John, Erin, Brenda and the entire staff at Beehive Homes of Duluth for their loving care and compassion.  They all became Alice's special second family.  Also, a special thank you to Dr. Basem Goueli and the St. Luke's Regional Cancer Center. Visitation 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM funeral service at Sunrise Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.  Interment Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
