Willie Frank Jerks, 72, passed away surrounded by family on March 25, 2019. Willie was born on June 25, 1946 to Milton and Luella Jerks in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Henry Ford High School. He attended Suomi College in Hancock, Michigan and Lakeland University in Canada, where he played basketball. He later joined the U.S. Army. Willie married Gail Dishow in December, 1969. They had four children together. Willie ran his own small lawn care business in Iron Mt, MI where they lived together. He also worked at the VA Hospital. Willie later moved to Duluth, MN where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Willie leaves behind his four children and their families: Frank (Lisa) Jerks, Johnny, Sophie, Michael, Ava of Duluth, MN; Paul (Jeanne) Jerks, Mackenzie, Malcolm of Green Bay, WI; Leslie (Santino) Laster, Jessie Benet, Ajani, Keane of Sheboygan, WI; Bethany (Patrice) Jerks, Devante, Joemar of Sheboygan, WI. A special service was held April 12, 2019 at Sunrise Funeral Home in Duluth, MN. Willie's ashes will be buried this summer at the Veteran's Memorial in Duluth, MN A special thank you goes out to Lisa Jerks and her mother, for taking care of Willie whenever he needed help. There will be a celebration of Willie's life at Mayme's Bar in Iron Mt, MI on May 31, 2019 from 4:00-7:00.
