William "Bill" Theodore Lundberg, 99, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019, in the Benedictine Health Center surrounded by his family. Bill was born on November 9, 1919 on the family farm in Arthyde, MN to John and Greta Lundberg. He graduated from Moose Lake High School in 1940. Shortly after graduation Bill enlisted in the Air Force, and served as Airplane Propeller Specialist. On June 22, 1946 he married the love of his life, Elsie Salo. Together they raised 6 children. He worked a variety of jobs before going to Auto Body School. He worked as a mechanic a few places, including his own business out of his garage. In 1960, he got a job as a St Louis County school bus driver, then as a school bus mechanic for the City of Duluth. He retired in 1983 from school district 709. Bill was a member of Homecroft Presbyterian Church. Bill was an incredibly hardworking man, and was very generous with what he had. He will be forever remembered as kind, soft-spoken, tender-hearted, loving, and an incredible father and grandfather. Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Elsie; grandson, Monty Lyons; and all his siblings. Bill is survived by his children, Rodney (Paulette) Lundberg, Cathy Beaver, Micheal Lundberg, Gloria Lundberg, Susan (Jeffrey) Sivertson, and Debbie (Daniel) Lathrop; grandchildren, Tina (Shane) Stevens, Brian Lundberg, Corey Lyons, Micheal Lundberg, Brandon Lundberg, Adam Sterling, Christopher (Ashley) Sivertson, Anne Sivertson, Carly Lathrop, and Daniel Lathrop; great-grandchildren, Rayne, Dominic, Kylie, Skylar, Anna, and Audrey; great-great-grandchildren, Hope and Georgia; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Family wishes to thank the Benedictine Heath Center and hospice for their loving care and compassion over the years. VISITATION: 10 am Thursday, February 28th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 11 am.
