William "Bill" Anderson, 87, of Cotton, MN passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born in 1938 in Racine, WI to Adolf and Madge Anderson.

Bill graduated from Denfeld High School, where he excelled in football, baseball, and basketball before going to UMD for a time to play football. He then started a family and worked at Duluth Spring Company for over 40 years.

His love of sports continued as he played fast-pitch, basketball, bowling, along with refereeing many high school and UMD football games. Bill also enjoyed hunting and fishing at their cabin on West Bass lake, a place he loved to share with his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Michael; and great-granddaughter, Scarlett.

Bill cherished his family, including his loving wife, Diane; children, Kristi (Bill) Lancaster, Sheri (Dan) Nilsen, Jill (Andy) Strom, Joe (Sandy) Anderson and their mother, Barbara Healy; stepson, Jason Lee and his father, Paul Lee; grandchildren, Ron, Nicole, Tom, Tara, Haley, Jake, Ryan, Ben, Chad, Graham, April, Travis and May; and several great-grandchildren.

A short heartfelt service will begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 5th at the Cotton Community Center, 9087 US-53, Cotton, MN with a celebration of his amazing life and fellowship to follow.
