Pickwick
1:00 - 5:00 pm (Central time)
William "Bill" Roach passed away on June 6, 2026, following a tragic accident at home. In his final selfless act, Bill provided the gift of life through organ donation.
Bill was born and raised in Duluth, Minnesota, on April 2, 1957. He graduated from East High School, where he met the love of his life, Debbie. Bill worked for New York Life for more than 40 years, earning numerous awards and forming lasting friendships along the way. He had a remarkable gift for helping others and was loved by many. His ability to make people laugh and create fun wherever he went was legendary.
Bill loved fishing and spent countless hours on the water, contemplating life and searching for the elusive walleye—or perhaps even a fish from the ocean. He and Debbie shared a passion for travel and explored as much of the world as they could. Bill was an active member of the Duluth Curling Club for more than 40 years, serving as a trustee, board member, and in many other capacities. One of his favorite recent adventures was attending the 2026 Winter Olympics to watch curling.
Bill is survived by his wife, Debbie; brother, Richard (Priscilla); sister, Margaret (Dominga) Benson; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and friends too numerous to count.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ruth Roach; and brother, Robert Roach.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Pickwick from 1:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, July 12th. Family and friends are invited to come prepared to share their favorite Bill stories.
Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials are preferred to the Duluth Curling Club or Project Joy.
