Wayne "Bud" Robert Hasforth, 92, of Hermantown/Duluth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Viewcrest Nursing Home. Wayne was born on July 3, 1924, to Emil and Esther (Johnson) Hasforth in Duluth, MN. Wayne served in WWII from 1943-1946, serving in the 228th Field Artillery Observation Battalion. Wayne returned from the war and met and married Avis Leola Simmons on June 14th, 1950. They celebrated 66 years of marriage this past June. Wayne worked for American Bakeries for 32 years, retiring in 1986. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chet, Ellsworth and his wife, Irene; sisters, June and her husband Bill Spindler, and Virginia and her husband Clifford Fortman. Wayne is survived by his wife of 66 years, Avis; children, Steven (Judy) Hasforth of Dexter, OR, Kathleen (Wayne) Beede of Goldendale, WA, and Bruce (Colleen) Hasforth of Duluth, MN; grandchildren, Dionne (Scott Dahl) Hasforth, Melissa Quinn of Springfield, OR, Lonny (Doella) Beede of Hillsboro, OR, Brandi Hasforth of Duluth, Stacie (Brian) Hansen of Hawthorne, WI; great-grandchildren, Ashley Beede, Lonny Jr. Beede, Nicholas Beede, Kensey Hansen, Carver Hansen, and Olivia Dahl; sister-in-law, Betty Hasforth of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Robinson, Dr. Enberg, Dr. Emme, and the staff at Viewcrest for their care of Wayne.
