Wayne "Winky" Mervyn Roberts, 87, of Duluth, passed away on July 2, 2024, in his home. He was born on September 26, 1936, in Duluth to Mervyn and Ann. Wayne spent his lifetime within the community he loved.

Wayne graduated from Denfeld High School before embarking on a long and dedicated career in the steel fabrication and mining industries. He was employed with Zalk Joseph's for 38 years and subsequently worked at North Shore Mining for 12 years prior to his retirement in 2001. During these years he made many lifelong friends.

An avid golfer, Wayne achieved the remarkable feat of scoring three holes-in-one at Enger Park Golf Course, a testament to his skill and passion for the game. His commitment to golf was matched by his dedication to the community through his lifelong membership in the Moose Lodge 1302.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Carol Roberts.

Wayne is survived by his children, Michael (Bettianne) Roberts, Cindy (Steve) Kulzer, Tracy (James Dudley) Roberts, and Ronda (Duane) Oraskovich; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Bye, Tanya Roberts, Brian Draisey, Amanda (Derek) Huntziger, Samantha Oraskovich, Elisabeth (Samuel) Tovar, Benjamin Kulzer, Thomas Oraskovich, Brooke (Grant) Trokey, Paige Kulzer and Faith Kulzer; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn Haugen and Janet (Jerry) Madisen; and beloved dog, Sophie.

Wayne's family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating his life. Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 8th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service at 11:00 AM and reception to follow. Private family committal and interment at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth with his darling Carol.
