Wayne Douglas Merrill, 73, of Duluth, MN passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Wayne was born in Duluth to Douglas and Alice Merrill on Sept. 27, 1947. He went to school at Morgan Park, where he graduated in 1965.

In 1967, Wayne was drafted in the U.S. Army, where he went off to Vietnam to fight for our great country.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Carol Merrill.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Dave (Nicki) Merrill and Richard Merrill; grandchildren, Jesse, Jake, Kellie, Marissa, Sophia, and Kodie; siblings, Butch (Vicky) Merrill, Sue (Richard) Linde, Tom (Nancy) Merrill; close friend, Michelle Stafford; and of course, furry companion, Severance.

Visitation to be held at 10am on Thursday, April 22nd at the Mission Creek Church Fond Du Lac, 521 131st Ave W, Duluth, with Memorial Service at 11am, followed immediately by Military Honors. Interment will take place at the Duluth Veterans Cemetery, 4777 Hwy 53, Saginaw, at 2pm.
