"To God Be The Glory"

Virginia "Ginny" Lois Hammarlund, 86, of Duluth, MN, passed away on Oct. 13, 2021, at Viewcrest Health Center.

She was born in Duluth to Mylie and Ella Porter on Feb. 27, 1935. She went to high school at Old Central High School and graduated in 1954. She attended Northwestern Bible School and finished her education at UWS with a degree in counseling and graduated with a 4.0. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, gardening, singing and dancing.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Philip, Mickey and Paul.

Ginny is survived by her husband, Jim; daughters, Judy (Ray) Reistad and Sharon Hammarlund; granddaughters, Meghan (fiancé Jake) and Courtney; and siblings, Edith, Tommy, Johnny and Jimmy.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Viewcrest Health Center with special thanks to Jenny, Kelly, Megan, Steven, Jeremy, Britney and many others.

Ginny had a deep relationship with her heavenly Father and is now rejoicing to finally be home.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Oct. 23rd at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
