Virginia B. Sundquist, 94, of Duluth, passed away peacefully at home on April 19, 2024. She was born on September 11, 1929 to Gladys and Stanley Bussa.

She graduated from Central High School in 1947 and started work as a dental assistant, eventually switching careers and retired as a cook from Hermantown High School. Virginia met her future husband, Laurence Sundquist, in 1953 and they married in May of that next year.

In her younger years, she was involved with the Eastern Star Church, and taught swimming lessons, just to name a couple. Later on, she enjoyed her trips to the casino with her friends, but loved spending time with her family the most.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband; and siblings.

Virginia is survived by her sons, Charles and Michael; grandchildren, Daniel (Amber), Kaitlyn, Erik, and Megan (Chris); and great-children, Erik Jr., Gabe, Arlo, Karson, Adeliah, and Everly.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 29th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral service at 11:00 AM and reception to follow. Interment at City of Hermantown Cemetery with Laurence. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the MN Autism Center – Duluth.
