Violet May Michog, 88, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018. Violet was born in Superior, WI, on Nov. 17, 1930 to Arthur and Edna Solberg. She worked on the SS South American Great Lakes Cruise Ships, had a degree and worked as a Practical Nurse, and was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. Violet enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, sewing, playing cards, puzzles, but most of all being with her family. Violet was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Peterson; and step-brother, Lawrence "Bud" Holmberg. Violet is survived by her husband of 49 years, Albert; children, Darryl (Penny) Michog, Cliff Peterson, Doug (Mary) Michog, Denise (Bill) Pink, Deanna (Jim) Richmond, and Christine (Chris) Ehman; sister, Delores Heikkila; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. VISITATION: 5 pm on Friday, Dec. 21st at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 6 pm. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
