Obituary

Vikki Lee Larsen, 58, of Duluth, MN passed away on August 26, 2024, at Hilltop Health Care Center.

Vikki was born in Minneapolis, MN to Gordon and Mabel (Becky) Larsen on March 4, 1966. They moved to Duluth where she was joined by her brother Jeffrey and eventually sister Gina. She attended Hermantown Schools and graduated in 1984. Right after High School, she moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to attend a year at Covenant Bible College. She then came back to Duluth and went on to earn a Bachelor of Art in History from the University of Minnesota Duluth. She attended the University of Wisconsin Superior and also earned an Associate Degree in Computer Networking from Duluth Business College. While attending school, she started working at Super One Foods where she stayed for 38 years and built life-long friendships. Vikki was well loved by her regular customers and easily identified by her Scooby-Doo tie.

Vikki never met a craft she didn't like. Having learned woodworking and tools from her father, she began her journey with wood crafts. She also enjoyed jewelry making and diamond art but found true passion with stamping and making cards.  She was a regular card supplier to her friends and family. Vikki was extremely generous with her talents and crafting tools. She taught crafts through Community Education at South Ridge Schools and often had craft events at church and in homes.

She was the favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews to whom she would let loose in her craft room where paint would flow and "master pieces" were made and slime slung. She also created silly games for family gatherings including the crafting of Plinko boards and fishing poles which made holidays a riot for her family.

The most important aspects of Vikki's life were her faith and her family. Her family included not only those who were related to her, but the friends she made along the way. She was known for her warm smile and attentive ears for listening to others. Vikki was quick to help and slow to judge. She was active at Gethsemane Covenant Church her entire life, including working as the church secretary for over 10 years. During her time as church secretary, she regularly wrote articles for the church newsletter, the Olive Press.

Vikki was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Larsen; grandparents, Merle and Lilian Larsen, and Leonard and Emma Huss.

Vikki is survived by her mother, Becky Larsen; siblings, Jeffrey Larsen, and Gina (Marty) Kautz; nieces, Elise Larsen, Melaina Larsen, and Zylea Larsen; nephews, Kenneth Larsen, Ian Kautz, and Alec Kautz; Godparents, Karen and Gary Mundis; numerous cousins; and countless friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 14th at Gethsemane Covenant Church, 4479 Ugstad Road, Hermantown, MN 55811, with Memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
