Verna K. Martichuski, 94, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023 in St. Luke's Hospital. Verna was born on July 28, 1929 to Stanley and Helen (Wojcik) Greski in Split Rock Township, MN.

During her younger years, Verna waitressed in Moose Lake, MN. For many years, she worked at Woolworth's store in the furniture department.

Verna was a devoted and fabulous wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved taking care of people and always thought of others first. She loved everybody and thought everyone was precious and special, but she did not realize that she was the most precious person of all.

First and foremost, Verna loved Jesus Christ as her Savior, her family, and friends. Verna loved cooking, gardening, and manicuring her yard.

Verna was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Kiminski; second husband, Albert Martichuski; son, John David; and grandson, Jimmy R. Long.

Verna is survived by her four children, Judith Long (Tim Jugasek), Karen (Bill) Agenter, Larry (Rita) Martichuski and Sherri (Matt) Shivers; granddaughter, Jennifer (Reed) Bowman; and her only surviving sister, Pauline Payzant.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that love offerings be made to Jesus Is Life Ministries in Duluth, MN.

Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 8th at the Hermantown Community Church, 4880 Maple Grove Rd, with funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
