Theodore Joseph Beaupre, 86, passed away peacefully at home on August 16, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
Ted was born on October 11, 1939, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Theodore Beaupre and Laura Loftis. He grew up with the kind of stories and adventures that would stay with him for a lifetime, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army.
Ted worked in heating and cooling and also spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver. His work took him many places, but what people will remember most is not simply where he went - it is the stories he brought home. Ted was a natural storyteller, and he could bring a memory to life in a way that made people feel as though they had been there with him.
Some of his favorite stories went back to the 1950s: racing cars, running around with his friends, and the adventures surrounding his beloved 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Those memories never seemed to get old, especially when Ted was the one telling them. His interests reached well beyond cars and his younger years. He enjoyed flying airplanes, gardening, fishing, and the simple pleasure of spending time with family and friends.
Ted also had a distinctive, tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. His family will remember the advice, one-liners, and practical observations that were uniquely his. One of his favorite pieces of advice when eating at someone else’s home was, “Eat the meat—it’s the most expensive part.” That combination of practicality and humor was pure Ted, and it is the kind of line that will keep making his family smile for years to come.
More than anything, Ted enjoyed life. He enjoyed the people around him, the stories worth retelling, the hobbies that kept his hands and mind busy, and the moments spent simply being together. His family and friends will remember his humor, his stories, and the unmistakable personality behind them.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Eleen Beaupre; children, Mary Beth Sateren (Gerald), Michelle Huhner, Lori Anderson (Christopher), Lisa McNeil (Christopher), and Brian Bailey (Daniel Grove); brother, Tom Beaupre; grandchildren, Daniel Huhner, Alex Huhner, Trevor Bailey, Jett Anderson, Connor Nygren, Brady Anderson, McKenzie Anderson, and Ella Nygren (Nate Martin); and great-grandson, Weston Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Beaupre and Laura Loftis; brother, Jim; and sister, Mary.
The family extends special and heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice; the staff at Essentia Hospital; special nephew, Mike Higby (Emma); friend, Joni Lindig; and the Anderson family for the care, kindness, companionship, and support they all gave Ted and his family.
Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 24th at Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy, with Funeral Service at 11:00 AM with Military Honors and Burial at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery to follow. Reception to be held at the Proctor VFW, 501 3rd Ave, Proctor, immediately following the honors, from 12:30 - 2:30 PM.
