Theodore Stanley Johnson, 73, of Duluth, MN passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at Solvay Hospice House. He was born Nov. 20, 1943 to Vivian and Stanley Johnson in Aurora, WI. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1962. Ted met Margaret Miller and they married April 11, 1964 in Duluth. Ted dedicated his time to his family and two passions in life, work as an aircraft mechanic and music. Ted retired from the Air National guard as a Master Sergeant. Ted formed the band T-Jays and performed for various audiences for most of his life. He was inducted into the Minnesota Rock Country Hall of Fame. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Larry, Jim, and Tom. Ted is survived by his wife, Margaret of Duluth; children, Tammie Colley of Bemidji, Darin (Rebecca) of Texas, Lisa (Nic) Zapko of Bloomington, Kim Johnson of Hermantown, and Brad (Jackie) of Hermantown; grandchildren, Riley (Danielle) Colley, Kayla Colley, Myria Colley, Reid Colley, Kelsey (Felipe) Martindale, Kevin Martindale, Skylar Remer, Ella Karki, Stratton Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Natalie Zapko, Josephine Zapko, Will Johnson, and Holly Johnson; sister, Sharon (Jerry) Walczynski of Duluth; and brother, Dale Johnson of Duluth. VISITATION: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 4230 St Johns Ave, Duluth.
