Thelma Harriet Hassell Aho, 95, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was born May 31, 1919 in Duluth to Ernest Harold Hassell and Theresa Hoveland Hassell. She grew up in Duluth and met her future husband, William A. Aho, at a roller rink. In May 1942 she made a trip to California to visit Bill who was working at Vega Air Craft, a subsidiary of Lockheed Aircraft. She got a job at Lockheed as an office worker. On November 28, 1942 she and Bill were married by a minister from Duluth who was in California at the time planning to start a Finnish Church. In 1944 Thelma and her sister Eleanor made a road trip to Massachusetts to join Bill who was serving in the Army Air Corps.
