Steven "Arch" Paul Archambeau, 71, of Anderson Road, Hermantown, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026, with family by his side.
Steve was born on July 8, 1954, in Duluth, to Leonard "Doc" and Letty Archambeau.
Steve was a life-long Hermantown resident and graduated from Hermantown High School in 1972. He attended technical school and spent much of his life working as a heavy equipment master mechanic and as a fire instructor at Lake Superior College's Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting campus in Duluth, a job that he loved. Steve had an unwavering passion for instructing and assisting others in the fire profession.
Steve was also very active in advocating for the strategic development of Hermantown, serving on Hermantown's Planning and Zoning Commission for 26 years. He also served his community for 20 years as an EMT and firefighter with the Hermantown Fire Department as well as 20 years of service as a State Fire Warden.
Steve enjoyed country music, four-wheeling, Minnesota Vikings football and spending time with family at the cabin on Linwood Lake.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mickey; and sister, Julie.
Steve is survived by his two children, Brett Archambeau of Hermantown, and Crystal (Jeff) Andres of Hermantown; brother, Robert Archambeau; sister, Linda (Chris) Kilbane; as well as one nephew and five nieces.
A graveside committal and burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 8th in honor of Steve's birthday, at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery in Hermantown. Memorial donations may be made to PBS Channel 8 or the Minnesota Special Olympics Area Three chapter.
