Steven Gene Burke, 72, of Barnes, WI passed away October 10, 2023, at Essentia Health St Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN, from complications of dementia and heart disease.

Steve was born in Duluth, on December 28, 1950. He attended and graduated from Central High School in Duluth, MN. After graduation he worked for DM+IR railroad. In later years, he a was truck driver. In retirement, he and his wife Linda moved to Barnes, WI, where he started his car and outboard motor shop. Steve and Linda (Staben) were married July 24, 1982, and celebrated 41 years of marriage this year.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Deloris Burke; brothers-in law, Joey Zawin and Chuck Staben; sister-in law, Bonnie Couture; niece, Tammy (Couture) Fair; and mother-in law, Lucille Zawin, whom he adored.

Steve is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Paul and Tom Burke; daughter, Kristina Burke; bonus daughter, Heather (Donny) Ramel; sister, Beverly; nephews, Skip (Angie) Couture, Mark (Roxie) Couture and Greg Fair; great nieces, nephews and grandchildren; and his fur babies, Rosie and Quinn.

Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 12th at Georgia's Bar and Grill,11050 Ellison Lk Rd, Barnes, WI, where we will tip a beer and tell a good joke for him.
